“The love is still there, my presence is just gone” – Rob Hill Sr.
So, I’m single. The only man in my life is my son. We go to the movies, we go out to eat, he cracks corny kid jokes and I pretend its funny and the only thing snoring in my room at night is my dog. Pathetic, right? With that being said, I’m definitely not jumping into any relationships anytime soon. The mentality of men and women is “dog eat dog” men and women are on the same playing field when it comes to relationships, its “tit for tat” if you don’t answer my text, I’m not gonna answer yours and if you think you have options, well, I got mine too. Relationships aren’t genuine. females were usually the genuine beings in relationships, because men were men. So, women tried to hold it together no matter what. Now, men are disposable, just the same as they thought we were.
Me personally, I can’t deal with the B.S. I’m that girl who just doesn’t care about your feelings, build the tallest brick wall and quick to tell you that “you have the option to leave” not because I just want to be a bitch, it’s that I’m so disconnected with love or even “like”. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve “liked” but I’ve done it with caution. I know I’m capable of these feelings but, why even touch base with them? Men are so caught up in how much women they can get in a day, they wouldn’t even notice if you even cared about them. And now women are doing the same thing. No one wants to get hurt, especially women, we are tired of being hurt, so we resort to acting like men; cold and disconnected. In my case, I don’t even know how to turn it off and I think that’s where I’ll miss out. A guy could really like me and I won’t even notice because I’m so set on being hard and it’s probably unattractive to some, but, I’m not gonna open the door for you to come in and possibly play games with my feelings.
It’s hard out here, men can’t be honest. From day one, men should tell women what it is, “Hey, I’m not really looking for a relationship, just friendship and a lot of casual sex” or “I’m single, but there’s this girl that think we’re together” give us the option of taking it or leaving it. Don’t pretend to want to build something just to get the goods then bounce! Honesty can go a long way and when men start calling women crazy, they’ll be well within their rights because he told her what’s up. But this won’t happen because it’s too logical.
So until then, I’m single and I’m going to enjoy playing the game. I hope one day, things would change. I would like to be in touch with my feelings and not be so cold-hearted. I would like to “like” and “love” again. But, it doesn’t seem like that will be happening anytime soon. And, for the record, I don’t think ALL men are cold and disconnected, but most are.
